Predictive Power of Hemorrhagic Transformation Scores in Real Life Stroke Patients Undergone to Urgent Reperfusion: A Brief Report

Introduction and aim: Hemorrhagic transformation (HT) is the most feared complication in acute phase of ischemic stroke. Predicting HT utmost importance clinical practice. In latest years a lot prediction scores have been proposed, but their comparison real life lack. Therefore, aim our study was to provide information about this topic. Materials Methods: We retrospectively calculated THRIVE, SPAN-100, MSS score, SITS-ICH GRASPS patients consecutively admitted Stroke Unit along two years. To evaluate predictive power, area under curve (AUC) Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) calculated. Results: Study population composed by ninety-one (51.6% females) with mean age 80.1 ± 11.3 Seventy-four (81.3%) undergone systemic intravenous alteplase, seven (7.7%) mechanical thrombectomy, ten (11%) alteplase plus thrombectomy. Eighteen (19.7%) presented HT. score best prognosticator HT, however power five analyzed low, ranging from none resulted significantly superior others. Conclusion: Our real-life showed low scores. Further prospective studies are warranted.
